Our client, a rapid growth direct-to-consumer eCommerce startup in a highly competitive market, came to Fixture Media looking to develop their content marketing program. Their existing blog was underperforming expectations, and 2 previous agency engagements had not yielded the results they needed.
After a successful product launch that had earned them a number of national press placements, they needed to implement a scalable link acquisition program in order to compete with entrenched household name competitors in their space.
In addition, they were 3-4 years behind other startups in the market in regards to SEO and content investment, and needed to gain share of voice quickly to not get left behind.
Fixture Media developed a three-part editorial strategy consisting of the following:
- Long-form Resource Content, designed to earn links from niche audiences.
- Medium-form “Intent Content”, designed to rank for mid-funnel terms related to their products and drive most of their organic visibility.
- Shorter-form Curated Visual content, designed to earn links from bloggers and influencers.
Beyond this, our team developed a PR and email outreach program to support the resource content, and our creative team handled email outreach to bloggers and influencers while curating content.
Our creative team invested heavily in illustrated assets and developing new graphics styles that were inline with brand requirements. Additionally, our creative team rebuilt 4-10 pieces of existing content from previous content efforts that were under-performing but showed potential, doubling length and graphics.
